Finally Getting to Know My Oven – Chocolate Chip Cookies

This evening, after prepping the chicken stock for tomorrow’s dinner, I looked up a recipe for chocolate chip cookies on allrecipes.com.

I followed the recipe fairly closing, but added some bran (or wheat germ… I can’t remember what’s in that particular storage container), coconut and white chocolate chips (in addition to the semi-sweet).

The first pan out of the oven was a tad burned on the bottom. But, they still tasted just fine.

After that, I monitored the cookies a bit more closely. The following batches were slightly browned on the bottom. Perfect!

I actually tidied up when I was done. Yay! It’s a great feeling to go to bed knowing the dishes are drying in the dish rack. (Yes Mom, you were right. It is better to clean as you go.)
