I am currently staying in Fairbanks, Alaska after getting back from a three day trip to the Arctic Ocean. It was the most fun I’ve had on a roadtrip. The scenery was enjoyable, but it was the company that affected me most.
Highlights
- Driving 1,000+ miles in 3 days
- Dipping my hands into the Arctic Ocean
- Using duct tape to repair my boots (the only pair of shoes that I brought camping) after they fell apart
- Tripping and falling, ripping the only pair of pants that I brought and gouging my knee
- Learning how to pee in the woods
- Hiking to a waterfall and dipping my head into it to wash my hair
- Getting eaten alive by mosquitoes
- Seeing Alaskan wildlife: Dall sheep, moose, fox, swans
