I'm sitting in the waiting room at a local clinic. The air smells slightly like cigarette smoke. I'm not sure if that's due to staff or fellow 'waiters', but it's giving me a headache.
My tonsils have been swollen and hurting since last Tuesday evening. It's miserable being sick while living alone. I am tired and don't feel like I have the energy to take care of myself. But, that's why I'm here. I've tried getting rest and taking EmergenC, etc but still don't feel any better. So, it must be something more.
ugh.
I usually don't get sick often... Maybe once a year. But, since moving, I've had two illnesses pretty much knock me flat.
I hope that I am able to resolve this before my work trip next week!
Can someone bring you a rotisserie chicken and throw it in the crockpot? Or better yet, make it for ya? I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteMy tonsils are in Casablanca.
I had tonsillitis really bad when I was a teenager. The Dr. told me to gargle with salt water (a full glass as hot as I could stand it) 4 times/day for 3 days. He said if I wasn't better then the tonsils were coming out. It worked. I still have my tonsils.
ReplyDeleteAunt Duddie: I don't think soup will help. I'm on antibiotics at the moment.
ReplyDeleteSam: ugh. Sounds miserable. But, if it works. :) Turns out I've got an infection. I've got fluid behind my ears. But, I'm hoping that the antibiotics will quickly help me recover. (My doctor also recommended whiskey + lemonade. He said 'at least then, even if you aren't feeling better, you won't care.' hmm.
Hmm, do you like fresh ginger? Peel it by using the edge of a spoon, slice it and boil it until it turns the water slightly yellow. Add a little honey and fresh lemon juice and drink up. Also, when it cools a little you can gargle with it. My herb book says lemon for tonsils. Did you know the tonsils are the only are of the body that can synthesize the anitbody to polio?
